2015 CHARDONNAY - $19.95
This oak-aged Chardonnay presents with a delicious hint of floral on the nose. Detect faint hints of peaches, toasted nuts and sweet cream in this smooth and very easy-on-the palate Chardonnay. Enjoy with fish, fowl, and friends.
This Verdelho is stainless steel aged, producing a crisp white wine with aromas of starfruit, lemon, almond blossoms, and a mineral quality reminiscent of the seaside. On the palate, more notes of lemon are present as well as hints of lime, grapefruit pith, and tropical citrus. This white would pair well with salads, seafood, and lemon based-sauces.
With a soft body and lush texture, this medium bodied white is full of rich fruit aromas and flavours. One’s first impression is that of ripe golden peaches and persimmons, that are as dominate on the palate as they are on the nose. Flavours of wild flower honey, tangerine, and honeysuckle are also present, followed by a subtle floral finish. For an interesting pairing, try this wine with grilled white fish and mango salsa.
2015 TERRACED GOLD-
Our estate grown blend of viongier, pinot gris, and chardonnay. Clean and crisp, medium-bodied blend with a hint of summer. Full of floral aromas and a rich, smooth texture that pairs nicely with fettuccini tossed in a creamy alfredo sauce.
2015 Pinot Gris
Our Pinot Gris is a lighter version than its French counterparts, but with all of the brilliant flavours. This easy to drink white has complex aromas of key lime, nectarine, and candied ginger. Flavours of tart green apple, citrus, and peaches fall very lightly on the palate, with a refreshing and tart finish. Try pairing this one with grilled vegetables, shellfish, or ceviche.
2014 Watauga River White- $18.95
This semi-sweet Watauga County grown Seyval is a wine that will appeal to both sweet and dry wine drinkers. With 2% sugar it starts sweet and fruity and finishes dry and crisp.
A hybrid cross of the Grenache Gris and Muscat of Alexandria grapes, the Symphony grape is known for its beautifully distinct aroma. Our version is a semi-sweet white that perfectly balances a touch of sweetness with a bright acidity. The high perfumed aroma is unique, full of heavy florals and reminiscent of melon, spice, and golden raisins. These distinct characteristics follow through on the palate, making this a truly interesting wine.
This Riesling has a heavy bouquet full of ripe fruit aromas, such as honey-crisp apples, candied pineapple, nectarines, and raw honey. With a touch of sweetness, this wine has a light body but intense flavours of ripe tropical fruits. With it’s delicate and sweet profile, this wine would pair perfectly with spicier foods, such as Thai and Indian cuisine.
2014 Winemakers Blend
This special winemaker’s blend is made with North Carolina grown Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Notes of dried cherries, rose petals, and sweet tobacco are present in the bouquet, and carry through on the palate, as well as flavours of fresh black cherries, white peppercorn, and vanilla.
2014 Cabernet Sauvignon
With aromas of blackberries, currants, and violets, this full bodied red embodies the classic cabernet profile. Notes of dark berries and heavy florals give way to smoky cedar and mocha aromas. The first sip yields reminds one of homemade blackberry jam, with hints of cherry, vanilla, black peppercorn, and espresso.
2014 Pinot Noir
This wine exhibits juicy raspberries, cherry and sweet spice with an elegant, deep structure. The midpalate runs deep with plum and ripe, black cherry finishing with lingering vanilla, cola and wild strawberries
With rich notes of stewed cherries, blueberries, blackberries, and fig, this jammy red is far from it’s rosé counterpart. It’s prevalent dark berry fruit gives the wine an intense start, while it’s smooth full-bodied texture and hint of licorice spice round out the finish on a softer note. Try this red with a piece of dark chocolate for an excellent pairing, or just by itself for dessert.
This year's Barbera is rich in body and jammed pack with dark fruit flavors. On the nose, one gets a powerful sour cherry and black raspberry aroma with hints of milk chocolate followed by tastes of vanilla, nutmeg and plum. Barbera is a dark skinned grape that produces wine with low tannins and high acidity. Try pairing with dark meats, root vegetables or herbaceous cheeses like bleu cheese!
