This weekend we are highlighting our local artisans as they set up shop in the vines! Sip and savor the days away!
The Ham Shoppe was reborn as a food truck in 2024 under the new ownership of Denton Poteet, a professional chef who grew up eating at the original Valle Crucis location and jumped at the chance to revitalize the brand for the Boone area. Their food complements our wines perfectly and will have you coming back for seconds…maybe even thirds!
For Diggy Donuts, family tradition grew into a business which grew into a passion…The owner, Rick, has always treated food as a celebration. One tradition he started with his kids was always visiting the hot donut stand in the flea market where Grandma lived. These fresh hot donuts became an expected stop every time they visited Grandma. During the Pandemic, Rick saw that drive through and food trucks were flourishing. He started toying with the concept and before you know it, Diggy Donuts was born.
A Miami native of Argentine and Cuban heritage, Chef Ulysses Gonzalez brings over two decades of culinary expertise-and deep Latin American roots-to the table. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran turned chef, his journey began in the family kitchen. Today, he leads SIA Provisions, blending elevated private dining with vibrant South American influence, and TUE, his Argentine wine label inspired by regional terroir. Chef Ulysses also brings a rich history of open-fire cooking, deeply rooted in Argentine culinary tradition. Spending half of the year in the High Country (with plans to be a year-round resident in the near future), his connection for Western North Carolina is undoubtedly reflected in his cooking blending his love for the mountains with his passion for South American flavors.
